Why Do Babies Cry So Much? 10 Reasons Every Mom Needs To Know

Why do Babies Cry For No Reason?

Parents, please do keep in mind that babies don’t cry for no reason. There is surely something behind the curtain which we could not understand. Those tiny-sweety-cuties can not speak out to express their problems. It’s the parents who need to understand their requirement and fulfill those.

Here are ten most common reason parents (read: moms) need to know.

1)  Are They Hungry?

Most of the time babies tend to cry when they are hungry. The younger your child is, the more it will cry because it needs food more frequently. The exception to that is when babies are newborn, so they do not intake as much and require breastfeeding.

If they are not willing to eat food, then give the baby milk and allow them to drink until the kid feels soothed or is done crying.

2) They Feel Uncomfortable.

As we know, babies express what they are feeling by crying. So if something is bothering them, they are bound to cry. Make sure your child is in comfortably fitted clothes. Check to see that the clothes are too light or too loose on them.

Also, check to see if the kid has a soiled diaper on. If they do, then you should change it immediately. It may be bothering the child or irritating his/her skin. Furthermore, make sure that the tabs aren’t on to light around the waist while putting on a new diaper.

Make sure it is a comfortable fit where the youngster can move around freely.

3)  They Need To Be Warm.

Children’s skin is sensitive and needs to be treated with care. Some children do not like being bathed because of the temperature change from warm to cool. This sudden temperature change makes them feel uncomfortable.

Make sure that your cutie is warm and cozy. But do not over layer your tot with clothes where they feel too hot. A reasonable amount of clothing should be one more layer than you.

4) They Need To Be Held.

When babies are young, they need to be held by their parents for the feeling of love.  And it is the reassurance that you are there to take care of him or her.

Some parents worry that if they hold their child too much, they will spoil their baby’s habit. Surely it’s a wrong concept. Babies want physical contact with their parents; want to be able to hear their voice, so they feel safe.

5)  They Need Rest.

When babies are young, they require a lot of sleep. They tend to get quite cranky when they are tired and tend to fall asleep wherever they are. Make sure the baby is in a quiet and noise-free atmosphere.

Turn off all the lights that may distract the newborn. At this age, they are very sensitive to the little things and could have problems sleeping likewise.

6)  They Are Sick or ill?

It is possible that if your child is crying too much and won’t stop because they are feeling any pain. Often when children are sick, they tend to cry in a high-pitched urgent tone.

Try to assist your baby immediately by taking him/her to the doctor. Let them feel relieved from the pain or from being uncomfortable.

7)  They Want Something To Suck On.

When babies are little, they tend to put everything in their mouth. That is why a sucking dummy or clean fingers can be very satisfying for a newborn. Sucking on things can steady a baby’s heart rate, relax her stomach, and help him/her settle.

8)  They Need Something To Play.

Don’t let your youngster sit there empty handed while you go off to do something. Give him/her something to play with, such as toys. It will keep the babies mind distracted.

Also, switch around the toys don’t give them the same toy to play with all the time, the baby will get bored.

Warning: Do not give anything too small that he/she can swallow. It’s best to have toys they can touch and feel but can not hold.

9)  They Need Entertainments.

Your sweetheart gets bored very quickly with anything except his/her parents. So spend time with them as much as you can. It will make them comfortable with your presence and give you some bonding time.

Listen to nursery rhythms or watch a cartoon movie. You can also read a story which will help improve their brain functionality.

10)  Irritated By Noises.

The child’s ears are quite sensitive, and they can get scared of the littlest noises. Try keeping away your baby from hard sounds like crackers or bands or any high volume sound source.

Also, avoid vacuuming while your kid is playing there. The noise of the vacuum cleaner tends to scare many children. Do not watch any scary movies with them; the horrific scenes can be mentally disturbing.
